Originating in Japan, Reiki is comprised of 2 words, Rei (pronounced like Ray) and Ki (Key), and can be roughly translated to mean "universal life energy."

 

Reiki is a safe, non-intrusive, gentle-touch (or no-touch) healing technique for energy balancing, stress management and deep relaxation.  Reiki brings about peacefulness and calm comfort and always is intended for your greatest good and highest joy!

What A Session Is Like

A full session usually lasts about an hour.  After a brief discussion to get an idea of your intentions and answer any questions you may have, you recline, fully clothed, on a comfortable massage table while soft music plays.  

 

I will use a series of hand positions and employ gentle touch as guided, while the energy flows and you are deeply relaxed.  Always respectful, safe and positive, each session is unique and tailored to what is best in that moment.  At the conclusion, you may find that you feel a warm or tingling sensation, or simply rejuvenated.  Make sure to drink plenty of water, as the effects of Reiki are detoxifying, and you will want to stay hydrated.
